Caribbean label The Cloth joins elite Brand63Africa cohort with exclusive Harrods partnership
A luxury fashion brand from Trinidad and Tobago has stepped onto one of the world’s most prestigious stages — and been welcomed there by royalty.
The Cloth, the sole Caribbean representative in the inaugural cohort of Brand63Africa, made its debut at the British Fashion Council’s London Fashion Week Designer Showcase this season, where His Majesty The King opened the event and personally greeted the Brand63Africa team and its designers — with each designer, including The Cloth, presenting a look from their collection.
Brand63Africa is a pioneering social enterprise dedicated to connecting designers of African heritage with the global luxury market. Founded by cultural and communications strategist Eva Omaghomi CVO, the platform features five designer brands from across Africa and the diaspora — representing Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, Kenya, and Trinidad and Tobago. The Cloth stands as the representative of the diaspora’s Caribbean voice within that tapestry of creative excellence.
The platform takes its name from 1963, the year the African Union was formed, and recognises the diaspora as Africa’s sixth region — a framework that places The Cloth squarely within a broader story of African cultural heritage and global ambition.

The Cloth was selected through a rigorous multi-stage process that began with a long list of 20 designers. Portfolio and business reviews were followed by interviews and pitch sessions, with a Creative Committee of international industry leaders — including Harrods Managing Director Michael Ward, LVMH Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Vanessa Moungar, and Council of Fashion Designers of America Past President CaSandra Diggs — providing expert artistic and strategic counsel to inform the final selection.
That selection came with a landmark commercial reward. Harrods has been announced as Brand63Africa’s official retail partner, and key looks from The Cloth’s AW26/27 collection will be stocked exclusively at the iconic Knightsbridge store. “The collaboration between Harrods and Brand63Africa provides an iconic stage for this exceptional group of designers,” said Michael Ward. “It’s an honour to have joined the creative community in selecting this inaugural cohort.”
Like its fellow cohort members, The Cloth was chosen for bringing a distinctive voice and heritage-inspired aesthetic to the platform — blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary luxury design, while championing small-batch production, sustainability and community empowerment.
“Africa has always produced luxury; what’s often been missing is sustained access and visibility at the highest level,” said Eva Omaghomi CVO. “This platform brings together heritage craftsmanship, contemporary design and responsible production, while remaining rooted in community, culture and creativity.”
For The Cloth, that description is a precise fit — and a long-overdue global introduction.
The Cloth’s AW26/27 collection will be available exclusively at Harrods later this year.
