Caribbean talent is making a powerful showing at this year’s British Fashion Council Fashion Awards, with British-Jamaican designers Martine Rose, Grace Wales Bonner, and Nicholas Daley leading the charge among nominees.
Martine Rose, a cult figure in London’s menswear scene, has been shortlisted for the top honour — Designer of the Year — where she will go head-to-head with industry giants including Miuccia Prada, Rick Owens, and Glenn Martens. Her nomination marks another milestone in a career defined by her subcultural edge and global influence.

In the British Menswear Designer of the Year category, Grace Wales Bonner and Nicholas Daley both secured spots on the five-strong shortlist, joining Craig Green, Kiko Kostadinov, and Stefan Cooke. Wales Bonner, celebrated for weaving cultural narratives into sharp tailoring, and Daley, known for his rich blend of craftsmanship and music-driven references, reflect the strength and diversity of Britain’s menswear vision.
The 2025 Fashion Awards, set for Dec. 1 at London’s Royal Albert Hall, remain the British Fashion Council’s flagship fundraising event, supporting the BFC Foundation and its mission to nurture future talent.
With Rose in contention for the global prize and Wales Bonner and Daley commanding the menswear spotlight, the nominations send a clear message: London continues to set the pace for fashion’s next chapter, powered in no small part by designers drawing on Caribbean heritage to shape a bold new vision of British style.
